Martin Richard 8-Year-Old Killed in Boston Bombing Martin Richard, 8, who was waiting to give his runner father a hug at finish line is named as one of three Boston Marathon bombing victims along with woman in her twenties while 176 are injured and 17 left in critical condition. An eight-year-old boy waiting at the finish line to give his father a hug was among three people killed when two explosions rocked the Boston Marathon and left 176 people injured in the worst terrorist atrocity since 9/11. Martin Richard died after the first of two bombs hidden in trash cans were detonated within 12 seconds of each other during the Patriots' Day bank holiday yesterday, sending terrified runners and spectators fleeing for their lives and leaving a scene of 'unspeakable horror'. Neighbors told MailOnline about the moment his father, Bill Richard, returned home still wearing hospital scrubs on Monday night and looking like the 'walking dead' as he struggled to come to terms with his son's death and injuries suffered by his wife and six-year-old daughter. As well as Martin, two other victims - including a woman in her 20s - lost their lives in the blasts. Boston police closed off the city as a 'danger zone' as witnesses described seeing body parts flying through the air and shoes that 'still had flesh in them' in an attack that has sent shock waves across the world. Seventeen of the injured are in a critical condition and CNN reported that at least 10 victims have needed amputations. At least nine of the wounded are thought to be children, including a two-year-old boy who suffered a head injury. Investigators do not know of a motive for the bombs, nor do they have a specific suspect. But last night detectives raided a Boston home after a man, said to be of Saudi origin, was arrested at the scene for acting suspiciously and taken to hospital, where he was treated for burns and shrapnel wounds. Today, as the United States remained on full alert, President Barack Obama vowed to hunt down the culprits and 'hold them accountable'. Startling video footage showed an explosion going off in the heart of the crowd that had lined the streets of the Massachusetts city yesterday to watch the famous sporting event. After the twin detonations ripped through the cheering crowds, one witness told CNN that it 'felt like a huge cannon' and other described horrifying scenes of screaming spectators, missing limbs and unresponsive bodies. 'In 28 years, this is definitely the worst I've seen,' said District Fire Chief Ron Harrington of the Boston Fire Department's District 3 to NBC News. 'Bodies and body parts. Blood all over. A little boy lying in the street. A young woman in her twenties. Both dead. It was mayhem. I saw two people with arms hanging loose, and one without a leg. A shoe with flesh still in it.' According to the Boston Globe, Martin Richard, from Dorchester, Massachusetts, may very nearly have cheated death after walking out to embrace his father Bill Richard as he went to cross the finishing line. But when Mr Richard walked on, the youngster turned back to rejoin his mother and two of his siblings just as the first bomb exploded. His six-year-old sister lost a leg in the blast and his mother Denise is in hospital after undergoing brain surgery. Martin's older brother, believed to be in the fifth grade, escaped injury. Mr Richard is a popular community leader in the Boston suburb. Martin was a keen baseball player, climber and runner and was a member of Savin Hill Little League team. On Twitter, Maeve O Brien called him 'the sweetest little boy I've ever met'. Bill Richard was still in hospital scrubs and was unable to speak or even look at anyone because he was so upset at the death of son Martin, neighbors told MailOnline. Jane Sherman, 64, said that Mr Richard came home for around 10 minutes at 10.30pm last night to get some clothes. At least three people have been killed and up to 170 people have been injured after two large bombs went off near the finish line of the famous Boston Marathon today, leaving behind a scene of carnage. Hours after twin explosions rang out near the city's Copley Square, President Obama appeared before the nation to tell them, 'We still don't know who did this or why they did this,' vowing that Americans stand by those affected. The reiterated that many people were injured, 'some gravely' and remarked that on days like today, 'there are no Republicans or Democrats,' emphasizing that it is crucial not to categorize the bombings as terrorist attacks. He made clear that the 'full weight of justice' would be brought down upon those responsible. 'We will find out who did this and hold them accountable,' he said.

The first explosion too place at about 14:50 local time (18:50 GMT). As the images show, the second blast came moments later. President Obama said "We don't yet have all the answers". The "Baggage Claim" singer/songwriter has nabbed two gongs at the ongoing prize-giving event, which was co-hosted by her husband Blake Shelton. Schools in Norway are concerned Bieber fever will cause pupils to skip tests to attend concerts in the capital, Oslo.Schools in Norway have rescheduled exams to allow pupils to attend Justin Bieber concerts. Five schools have changed dates for the mid-term exams amid fears pupils may skip the tests to attend gigs in Oslo. The schools are located 230 miles northwest of the capital - in the Alesund region - meaning students would not have time to get to the concerts after the exams. The Canadian pop star is scheduled to perform in the Norwegian capital on April 16 and 17. Norway's Ministry of Education and Research said schools had the right to change dates for mid-term exams. Meanwhile, Bieber remained embroiled in a row over the confiscation of his pet monkey at Germany's Munich airport. Mally, a 14-week-old capuchin monkey, was taken by customs after the 19-year-old singer failed to present the necessary documents for importing a live animal. Animal rights activists have said that Bieber should be denied the right to fetch his monkey for the sake of the pet's welfare. The pet was reportedly a birthday present from Bieber's record producer and accompanied him on a private jet during tours of Germany and Austria. Authorities said the singer had four weeks to provide the required paperwork and claim his pet or else Mally would be kept permanently at an animal shelter. A leader of Left party CPI-M's student's wing has died of injuries that he sustained while in police custody in Kolkata today. Sudipta Gupta, 24, and several other leaders and activists of the Students' Federation of India or SFI, were rounded up by the police while they were protesting this afternoon against the Mamata Banerjee government's decision to put off college union elections in the state. They were put in buses and taken to Presidency Jail.
